I hope you are having a great Spring...I am as busy as ever, playing shows and working on 2 new albums! 
 
I am in the very early stages of a new studio album, and also just now putting together a new live acoustic cover album, so stay tuned as I get closer to finishing them.  I will most likely post some of the demos on my myspace page as I get them done.
 

I hope everyone had a great holiday season.  I had a great time with all of my family, and actually started working on a new CD! 

I'm really hoping to have a new studio album out this year, and possibly a live-type cover album as well.  If you have any favorite cover songs that I do, let me know...I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do.

Also, very soon, I will be selling digital download cards for my album at my live shows.  This seems to be the future of the music medium, so I'm gonna be right there with the times! It will basically be for those of you who would rather just buy digital downloads instead of the actual CD.  So, keep an eye out for them at the shows in the near future.

As for now, you can go to itunes or my website to download the tracks from my album, if you don't have it yet. 

Good news for all of you iTunes users.  My CD "Short and Sweet" has finally made it's way to iTunes!  The songs are only $.99 each!  If you already have the CD, I could really use some reviews on the iTunes page.

This is just another update for all things "Matt Collins."  I am chugging along playing lots of shows and trying to get as many CDs out as possible. Thanks to all of you who have picked up the CD online or at one of the shows.  I hope you're enjoying it! 

A lot of you are requesting some "Matt Collins" T-Shirts as well as some live recorded material/bootlegs, etc.  I'm happy to say that both of these things are in the works! 

Also, I am currently writing new material and will be doing some demos as soon as the songs come together.  This is the first stage of what will likely become the next studio album.  So be assured that I am working on getting as much music out there as possible!

Although only 28 years old, Matt is not new to the music scene. Matt performed with his band, The Treatment (previously knows as Longwood), for over twelve years. In 2003, they released their third full-length album, White Bread, on Cinemark Records,and in 2005 they released New EP from the Treatment entitled "Wake Up.". Fans of Matt are drawn to his powerful, soulful vocal style coupled with a rare ability to write insightful, sometimes witty lyrics with infectious melodies. "Melodies are the most important part of writing for me. Lyrics are important as well, but if its not pleasing to the ear to start with, you might as well be reading the back of a shampoo bottle."

While attending the University of Florida, Matt found his way around Gainesville playing solo shows whenever he could, learning his craft and earning a loyal fan base. At the same time, Longwood was playing all over the southeast, perfecting their stage show and songwriting skills.

Matt is currently playing over 200 solo acoustic shows a year throughout the Southeast from Jacksonville, Fl (where he now resides.) "I am so lucky to be able to do what I love for a living. My only goal is to give 100% of myself each night to whoever will listen, and hope that they will enjoy themselves as much as I enjoy performing."

Matt released his debut solo Album, "Short and Sweet" in January of 2007 to excellent reviews, and is currently writing songs for his follow-up release
